Pocklington v Fylde and Thornton Cleveley, Saturday 19th October
Red Roses 2 Pocklington 0
We hosted our friends from over the border, Fylde and Thornton on what was a Super Saturday. The First Team hosted Harrogate and the Women’s team were in action too. What a day. All our pool games were very tight and very competitive, marshalled very well by our own Andy Wynn, and it was the Lancastrians who came out on top in the pool section. In what was typical of the culture of our game, Man of the Match, Ian Potts, elected to finalise the day with a Lancashire Yorkshire showdown. Played with ten a side, this was a fine advert for Walking Rugby, with yet more enthusiastic and skilful play on show which gained accolades from both home and travelling supporters. Excellent hospitality from the Pocklington Club, and we thank the TOGS for their match day sponsorship. We do need, however, photographic proof that Man of the Match Ian Potts is still wearing his prize.
Massive Thanks to all who made this day a huge success.
